The 2019 MMORTS Kingdom Under Fire II will be sunsetting on October 26th, 2021. It has a rocky history of servers shutting down across the globe over the past couple of years. The western version is the latest to announce the impending closure. The developers released a press statement on the Gameforge site and their Facebook page stating the following:

THE BATTLE IS ENDING

Gameforge will discontinue operation of KINGDOM UNDER FIRE 2 on 26/10/2021

Dear Bersians,
regrettably, we must announce today that the time has come to cease the fighting on the battlefields of Bersia: Gameforge will discontinue the operation of KINGDOM UNDER FIRE 2 on 26/10/2021. We look back on epic mass battles, hordes of enemies and, in particular, a unique community. We are grateful for the amazing time we could spend together and will always remember it fondly.

From 16/9/2021, you will no longer be able to top up premium currency. You’ll continue to be able to use any premium currency you have until the servers are switched off, of course.

The servers will go offline on 26/10/2021. We are therefore terminating the user contracts on this date. This does not affect your Gameforge account, which you can use to play our other games. You’ll find some suggestions below.

We would be delighted to see you again in Swords of Legends OnlineAIONTERA or another game and wish you all the best!
The KuF2 Team

There has been no word yet with regards to users who have purchased premium currency getting refunds, nor has there been any mention of game-closing events that usually happen when an MMO is shutting down.

The game never really gained much traction. According to Steamcharts, KuF2 only hit an all-time peak player count of 1,875 concurrent players since launch. As of writing this, there are 17 players online. For an MMO of any genre, this is bad and would also help to explain the upcoming closure.
